Helen Cormack began her working life in book publishing at William Collins & Sons. A career change led her to become an interior decorator at Scarisbrick & Bate in Mayfair. During this time, she discovered a profound love of 18th and 19th Century textiles, which eventually led her to work for Percheron and then Claremont.
In 2005, after working for these two wonderful companies, Helen decided that it was time to move on. Unsure what to do next, she had a serendipitous encounter with Nina Campbell, who pushed her to start her own business.
Helen fully realised her passion for fabrics when she opened Tissus d'Helene Ltd in 2006 and then launched her own collection, Fleurons d'Helene, in 2010. Some years later, she acquired the John Stefanidis and Lenore Burry archives. Recently, with her great friend Nicole Fabre, they founded Nicole Fabre & Company Ltd.
Tissus d'Helene is renowned for its broad range of beautiful boutique fabric and wallpaper brands from the British Isles, Europe, America, India and Ghana. An important part of the company’s ethos is to support artisan weavers and printers. The showroom is an Aladdin’s cave, showcasing beauty, craftsmanship and invention.
